Osprey Leisure Centre

Osprey Leisure Centre is based on Portland and primarily serves the Weymouth and Portland community and south Dorset in general. It is often regarded as the gateway to leisure activities in the area. It is one of the first or last places to visit upon crossing the causeway. This road link and Chesil Beach itself are two wonderful creations of nature not to be missed.

Island Community Action

Island Community Action (ICA) formed in 1999 to support Portland’s local community through activities and services that achieve one or more of the following aims:

• Address the causes of local marginalisation and deprivation 
• Improve mental/physical health, wellbeing and resilience
• Expand social networks and feelings of belonging (reducing incidences of isolation and loneliness)
• Increase the ability to live independently and happily for longer
• Improve life chances and opportunities through learning and training
• Support community engagement, social action and volunteering
• Improve community cohesion and collaborative working
• Improve and protect Portland’s natural environment
• Improve infrastructure and contribute to local regeneration and sustainable development.
